Created by François Dorieux in France in 1992 and marketed as ‘Violette Parfumée in 1998 this Hybrid Tea, that in USA they calssify Grandiflora, blooms tendentially in small clusters of large flowers style Floribunda.
Successful variety with many synonyms, ‘Debry-Hagen Gmelin Rose’, ‘Derby’, ‘Melody Parfum’, ‘Melody Parfumée’ and ‘Zulu Royal’.
The shrub, with semi-glossy dark green foliage, develops vertically, it reaches even the metre and a half.
The flowers surpass the 11 cm of diametre, with 25-30 petals changing through time from violaceous mauve to bluish purple. As usually occurs with these colours, they have an intense fragrance, that here evokes the old Damask rose with notes of violet.
Somewhat sensitive to cold, but with good resistance to diseases, is remontant in cycles and is an excellent cut flower.
