Ochlodes sylvanus

Family : Hesperiidae

Ochlodes sylvanus, Hesperiidae

The Large skipper (Ochlodes sylvanus) is a small butterfly that often goes unseen so much fast is in flying and that only when resting can be identified. A frenetic flight, such to seem a big fly but when staying it shows an auburn brick colour quite attractive. The body is very big and muscular if compared to the wingspan and when resting has the characteristic of keeping the upper wings slightly raised and detached from the lower ones © Giuseppe Mazza
