Conus bengalensis

Family : Conidae

Conus bengalensis, Conidae

The Conus bengalensis is a rare species of the Indian Ocean found only in the Bay of Bengal. It lives between the 10 and 15 m of depth, predating, like the other Conus, small fishes and mollusks paralyzed by its strong venom. Useless to say that it is a rather expensive shell, very coveted by the collectors for its size, that may exceed the 10 cm, and for its particular and elegant drawing with triangular white spots that overlap on the brown background © G.
