The Erebia aethops is a butterfly very diffused in Europe with a hilly or mountain habitat depending on the latitude. Very similar to the several congeners present on the territory, it has a 45 mm wingspan and is often mistaken with the Erebia ligea. Only some small differences in the underwing give the possibility of a correct classification © Giuseppe Mazza
