The Neritina communis is a gastropod frequent in the sandy bottoms with mangroves of the central-western Pacific. The shell, perfectly smooth, thick, globularly spiraled, measures 12-20 mm. The basic coloring is mostly crimson-red, but can also be yellowish with a variable band, often with white and black zigzagging patterns © Giuseppe Mazza
