An old mutation of the Rosa foetida , native to south western Asia, with five orange-red petals internally and yellow on the reverse side.

But often, on the same plant, some branches regress, and give, close to the bicolour, some completely yellow flowers.

With a slightly unpleasant perfume, this variety is significant in the history of the rose, as together with the Rosa foetida persiana , it has carried the yellow colour in the genetic patrimony of the roses.
