Anolis equestris

Introduced in Florida and Hawaii, the Anolis equestris is the biggest membre of the Dactyloidae family with about a length of half a metre. Diurnal and arboreal, able to do 50 cm leaps, has pointed snout and big mouth with small sharp teeth that swallows everything found: mainly insects, artropods and snails but also small vertebrates and juicy fruits. Can change colour from emerald green to black, keeping unchanged the yellowish bands on head and shoulder.
